Though I don't think I exactly hit the nail on the head with this particular design, I am very fond of quite a number of it's aspects. Being that this was a concept design, and there was never any intention of actually producing the set, I mostly used the time to experiment. It was around this time that I realized that when it comes to set design, SketchUp is only a useful tool if it can speed up the process, so this was one of my first attempts at what I will call "Speed-SketchUp", but what others might refer to as "Frantically-Designing-as-a-Deadline-Approches". From the first incarnation of the design to the second, you will notice a massive change in direction, this is due to another more "real-world" experiment. After a rough copy of the design was produced, I was told that the "theoretical director" of the show wanted to go in a different direction, and to change my designs accordingly. In the end, this project took my skills from simply 'design', to 'design on a timeline', which I am very grateful for.
