For the 2005 Comedy l0l production of Rick Abbot's Dracula: The Musical?, directed by Cindy Genzano, I was set designer, head of construction, and stage manager. This was the first show for which I fully utilized SketchUp as a design tool, and was able to provide proof-of-concept for future productions as to both the ease of use, and powerful capability. No show is without it's unexpected twists, and the fact that the build crew for this set basically consisted of myself, one other person, and a few cast members who could only donate a few minutes here and there, was quite a turn. Just when everything seemed to be coming together for opening night, the forecast turned from sunshine to downpours for the weekend, and this 'under-the-stars' show had to go indoors. The entire set was then disassembled, moved across town, and installed indoors, all in a manner of around 7 hours. All in all, the show was a success, and helped foster excitement about the up and coming Comedy l0l program, which has since grown by leaps and bounds. When an audience member has to ask if the set was painted or wallpapered, you know you've done something right.
This also happened to be just before the time that I realized I should start documenting my work. Virtually none of the photos below were taken by me, so instead of focusing on my work, they focus on the cast or moments during the show. Not that it's a bad thing, I just wanted to explain why you are looking at so many actors rather than focused set pieces.
