If there is one thing I want you to take away after browsing through my site here, it's that I believe in the work I do. Not only is this a portfolio for those interested in utilizing my talents and experience, but it is also meant to act as something of an epicenter for sharing and fostering interest in the assorted projects I work on. I am a strong believer in social media for a number of reasons, and routinely use sites such as Twitter, Facebook, Blogger, Digg, Flickr, and YouTube for promotion of work I am currently involved in. I have been involved with the creative and technical aspects of live and recorded performance in some capacity or another since the age of ten and graduated cum laude from The University of Massachusetts Amherst with a major in theater with a technical focus (and a minor in psychology). I love a challenge and am routinely asked to create works for which there is no standard design process. Two major themes which were instilled in me during my university experience were the ideas of collaboration and multi-discipline understanding. There are art forms for which all choices are individual, but this is not the case with theater, film, and live events. I feel that the ability to contribute, use critique, and generally play back and forth among those with whom I am collaborating has greatly improved my output quality. Rarely have I been asked to work on a project for which a single discipline of my repertoire was required. An example of this would be that my knowledge of scenic design has led to better puppets and vice versa. If you understand how to read blueprints, then you very quickly realize you need to design the giant man-eating plant to be able to fit through the 6' doorway. I am currently situated in Cheshire, Connecticut though travel is a large and welcome part of what I do. Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoy what you see here and don’t hesitate to contact me for whatever reason.
